The 4 Types of Content You Need to Grow Your Tax Business

Wall display featuring neon text 'Social media' above eight circular icons representing popular social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and a play button, arranged in two rows against a red brick background. A green plant is partially visible in the lower right corner, and a small logo for 'Xpert Business & Tax Solutions' is in the lower left corner.

If you want to grow your tax business using social media, you cannot just post random content and hope it works. Growth happens when your content has a purpose. Every post should fall into one of four categories that attract attention, build trust, and turn followers into clients.

Educational Content

Hand placing the final wooden block on a staircase-like stack of blocks spelling out the word 'SKILL' in red letters. Each step has a black upward arrow, symbolizing growth or improvement. The background is a solid light blue, and a small logo for 'Xpert Business & Tax Solutions' appears in the top left corner.

This is where you teach. Share tax tips, explain credits, talk about deductions, and answer common tax questions. Educational content positions you as the expert and builds authority. When people learn from you, they begin to trust you.

Examples include explaining who qualifies for Head of Household, common Schedule C deductions, or what clients should bring to their tax appointment.

Relatable Content

A person in a dark suit with a megaphone as a head stands with arms crossed, surrounded by floating icons and cards representing major digital platforms including Meta, Google, YouTube, LinkedIn, and email. White lines connect the icons, indicating a network or communication flow. The background is dark gray, and the 'Xpert Business & Tax Solutions' logo appears in the bottom left corner.

People connect with people. Relatable content shows the human side of running a tax business. Talk about long hours during tax season, last minute clients, or funny situations tax pros deal with. This type of content builds connection and reminds people that you understand their real life experiences.

Authority Content

"Two open hands cupped upwards under a digital diagram labeled 'CONTENT' at the center. Surrounding the central word are circular icons representing a lightbulb, bar chart, user profile, laptop, clock, and line graph, connected by dotted lines to form a circular network. The background is a gradient of dark blue to purple, and the 'Xpert Business & Tax Solutions' logo is visible in the bottom left corner.

This is where you show your experience and credibility. Share client wins, your years in the industry, speaking engagements, media features, or results from your trainings. Authority content builds confidence in your audience and helps them see you as the professional they should trust.

Promotional Content

At some point you have to let people know what you offer. Promotional content tells people how to work with you, what services you provide, and why they should choose you. If you never promote your services, people may follow you but never become clients.

When you combine these four types of content consistently, you create a powerful strategy that grows your audience and your business.

Content is not just about posting. It is about building relationships, demonstrating expertise, and turning visibility into revenue.
